Terms of use
These are the terms for using Rink Hopper. They are short on purpose. A rink that claims its listing or pays for Rink Pro also has the terms for rinks. How the site handles your data is on the privacy page.
What the site is
Rink Hopper shows drop-in ice sessions read from rinks' own published schedules. It works hard to be right and it is not always right. The time, the price and whether a session runs at all are the rink's to decide. Check with the rink before you drive. The rink's own page wins.
As it is
The site is free and comes as it is. Rink Hopper is not responsible for a session that moved, was cancelled, was full or cost more than shown, or for anything that happens at a rink.
Accounts
- Accounts are for people 16 and over, one per person.
- Sign-in links go to your email, so keep that email yours.
- Rink Hopper can close an account that is used to abuse the site or the people on it.
What you put on the site
- A display name is a name. Not a link, not an ad, not someone else's name.
- Say you are going only to sessions you mean to go to. A fake crowd, or a fake empty rink, spoils the board for everyone.
- A report that a time is wrong goes to a person. Please make it a real one.
Fair use
Reading the site and its public data with a script is fine. Keep it to a pace that does not slow the site down for anyone else. Using the site to harass anyone, or to work out who will be at a session, is not fine.
Skater Plus
- $3 a month or $20 a year, paid through Stripe's own pages.
- Month to month. Cancel anytime from the billing page, and Plus runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- A yearly plan refunds its unused months on request.
- A price change comes with 30 days' notice by email.
Donations
A donation through Ko-fi is a gift. It buys nothing on the site and changes nothing about what you see.
Questions and disputes
Write to us first. Nearly everything gets sorted there. These terms are governed by the laws of Indiana.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. A price change still comes with 30 days of notice.
