Terms for rinks
These terms are for a rink that claims its listing or pays for Rink Pro. They add to the terms of use. What the reader takes from a rink's site, and how a rink opts out, is on the reader's page.
Your listing
A rink's public schedule is on Rink Hopper whether or not the rink pays. Paying never changes what is shown about another rink. A rink that would rather not be listed can opt out at any time.
Claiming it
- Claiming a listing is free. It lets the rink correct its details and fix what the reader got wrong.
- A claim is approved by a person, after a code sent to an address at the rink's own domain, a line placed on the rink's own website, or a call to the front desk number already on file.
- Rink Hopper can decline or end a claim for a listing that is not the claimant's rink, and refunds any unused paid period when it does.
Rink Pro
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rink Pro | $49 a month, or $490 a year | Month to month, cancel anytime |
| Founding rink | Free through April 30, 2027, then $29 a month for as long as the rink stays | The first ten rinks to claim, or any rink that claims before April 30, 2027, whichever comes first |
Every rink gets the same prices and the same terms. A founding rink posts open ice at least once, puts the schedule widget on its own site and lets its logo appear on the about page. A chain or a building with two rinks gets one bill, with Pro priced per rink.
Paying
- Monthly plans by card. Yearly plans by card or bank debit. Payment happens on Stripe's own pages, and Rink Hopper never sees a card or bank number.
- A park district or other public body can pay by invoice, with a W-9, net 30, by bank transfer, card or check.
- Pro turns on when the first payment clears, not when the form is sent. A bank payment can take a few days.
- A failed or returned payment turns Pro off, and we email you when it does.
Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel anytime from the billing page. Pro runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- A yearly plan refunds its unused months on request, worked out by the month.
Price changes
A price change comes with 30 days' notice by email, and never applies to a founding rink.
What a rink sees
Numbers, never people. Views of the rink's page, clicks through to its booking page, check-ins and deal redemptions, as counts. Never a name, an email or anything else about a skater.
What a rink posts
- Open ice, cancellations and deals have to be true, and a deal has to be honoured at the front desk.
- Two open-ice posts a day per rink, so an alert stays worth reading.
- Nothing is sold through Rink Hopper. Every session still links to the rink's own booking.
- Rink Hopper can take down a post that is false or abusive.
